Employer Information Sessions are a great way for students to learn more about an organization and its opportunities, as well as network with employers.

Who Should Attend

The vast majority of info sessions are open to all interested students and are a great way for you to learn what it might be like to work for a specific employer or in a given industry or sector. Space is often limited so RSVP on Duck Connect if you plan to attend. Employers add sessions throughout the term so check the calendar often.

What They Are

During these sessions, employers make presentations on topics that include the organization's career opportunities, culture, and products or services. This is a great time to speak with representatives in small groups or one-on-one. Preferred professional or "business casual" dress is appropriate.

Tabling

Short on time? Another great way to connect with hiring employers is to stop by their information tables to learn more about their organizations and opportunities, as well as connect with a company representative. Employers often have information tables late morning to early afternoon and then opt to host an info session later in the evening. Career opportunities they typically hire for include summer jobs, internships, and full-time jobs. Don’t forget to bring your résumé! Past employers included the U.S. Air Force, Apple, Eugene 4J School District, Peace Corps, Teach for America, and more.
