SOX Analyst II (R17-431)
Assist PGE’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program, including coordinating PGE’s SOX Committee, performing risk assessments, evaluating and maintaining segregation of duties, the development and maintenance of control documentation, and evaluation of control deficiencies. Consult with various businesses and IT personnel on control deficiencies and recommend corrective actions. Provide training to build and maintain strong control practices. On a quarterly basis, assist in the preparation of reporting materials to PGE’s Audit, Controls and Disclosure Committees pertaining to the design and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
Independently provide accounting services, including coordination and preparation of various regulatory financial reports. Ensure that reports are in compliance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (GAAP) and regulatory requirements including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Oregon Public Utility Commission (OPUC). Occasionally perform accounting research and provide recommendations on accounting and reporting issues for decision-making.

Knowledge and understanding of internal control processes including the requirements of SOX.
Analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to learn and retain technical skills and knowledge.
Excellent human relations, communications and team behavior skills
Demonstrated ability to independently manage time and work projects effectively, including establishing project goals, tracking status and communicating final results/recommendations, with minimal supervision.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and the ability to perform accounting research and formulate and defend recommendations.
General understanding of FERC accounting theory and practices, or demonstrate the ability to learn.
Effective Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills and the ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of ERP systems.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor degree in Accounting. CPA or CPA candidate preferred and 2 or more years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial reporting or related field.
