We are looking to fill the position responsible for the Oregon State Bar's (OSB) financial management in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles including planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting. Also responsible for the safekeeping of bar assets and tenant and lease management. Oversees management of facilities operations and maintenance and the Distribution Center.

Essential Duties include the following:

Provides input and recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Governors (BOG) Budget and Finance Committee on matters of overall bar financial policy.

Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs, and evaluates the bar’s fiscal function and performance.

Prepares timely and accurate financial statements and reports. Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the CEO, the BOG, and bar management in performing their responsibilities.

Responsible for development of the OSB annual budget and five year financial forecast in consultation with the CEO for approval by the BOG.

Formulates and carries out internal operating and financial policies and procedures for the bar in consultation with the CEO.

Closely monitors the bar’s operating and capital reserves and bank accounts.

Invests the bar’s short-term and reserve funds in accordance with the bar’s investment policy. Optimizes banking relationships and initiates appropriate strategies to enhance the bar’s cash position.

Responsible for all state and federal reporting requirements including the biennial audit.

Responsible for evaluating and securing insurance needs for the bar.

Responsible for the management of the leased space in the building. Works with brokers to secure tenants and negotiate terms of leases.

Evaluates and advises on the impact of OSB long-range planning, introduction of new programs and strategies and regulatory actions.

Candidates may have any satisfactory equivalent combination of the following experience & training which ensures the ability to perform the work.

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related field. Graduate study in accounting, finance, business, public administration preferred. CPA or equivalent experience desired.

Five years of experience in a senior management role to include financial and administrative experience with program planning, strategic planning, administration, evaluation, budgeting, and resource allocation, and developing, analyzing, implementing, and evaluating strategic initiatives that align with business needs. Prior experience working with an association, government, or other not for profit organization preferable.

Three years supervisory experience preferably to include accounting, facilities, and operations.

Experience in facilities management to include rentals and tenant and lease management.

Experience with reporting accurate fiscal information to people with little to no background in accounting or finance.

Experience with business process mapping to include analysis of current state, to be designed, and gap analysis.

Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.

Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite in a Microsoft Windows environment with particular emphasis on Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access database management programs. Advanced knowledge of Excel.

Experience with Great Plains accounting software or a comparable accounting software program.
