The EWEB Child Development Center is looking for a qualified Assistant Teacher to work in our Preschool and/or Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms with children aged 3 – 5 years old. We are a high quality, non-profit child care center located in downtown Eugene. EWEB CDC Assistant Teachers are responsible for the effective supervision of children in a high quality, developmentally appropriate classroom. Assistant teachers assist with the planning and implementation of a curriculum that meets children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative developmental needs and interests in a play-based and educational environment. Assistant Teachers are responsible for adhering to and enhancing the policies and philosophies of the EWEB Child Development Center and assisting with duties that ensure the classrooms and Center runs smoothly. Assistant Teachers report directly to the Center Director but work under the guidance of classroom Lead Teachers.
Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related degree preferred, OR at least one year of qualifying teaching experience, with at least one year as a teacher at a certified child care center or school, OR any satisfactory combination of the above qualifications. You must have/be willing to obtain and maintain a current CPR/First Aid card, Food Handler’s card, attend a one-time class in Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, attend a one-time online class titled Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety", attend 15 hours of required ECE training yearly, and maintain enrollment in the Central Background Registry.
