The EWEB CDC Lead Teacher in the Preschool Room is responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate classroom. The Lead Teacher develops and implements curriculum that meets children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative developmental needs and interests in a play-based and educational environment. The Lead Teacher establishes and maintains positive partnerships and communication with families and community agencies. The Lead Teacher is also responsible for adhering to and enhancing the policies and philosophies of the EWEB Child Development Center and assisting with duties that ensure the classrooms and Center runs smoothly. The Lead Teacher co-teaches with another Lead Teacher, may provide supervision to Teachers, Assistant Teachers and Aides; and reports directly to the Center Director.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; OR at least two years of qualifying teaching experience, with at least one year as a Lead Teacher at a certified child care center or school; or documentation of attaining a Step 8.5 in the Oregon Registry; OR any satisfactory combination of the above qualifications.
