Looking for an energetic and passionate Accounts Payable Accountant (25 - 30 hours per week with benefits) for an established non-profit located in Downtown Seattle! For decades we have been committed to serving the Greater Seattle area as well as those in need worldwide. Our dynamic team of staff members are dedicated to improving lives and are active in the community.
The primary responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Accountant are to process payments to vendors, enter employee expense reports, input invoices, and issue checks on a weekly basis through SAGE MIP accounting software. Other duties may include but are not limited to:

- Maintain electronic vendor files
- Prepare month-end expense accruals
- Train staff to ensure proper recordkeeping of expenses
- Reconcile prepaid expense accounts
- Process employee benefit invoices
- Follow established procedures and be committed to continuous process improvement
- Allocate charges among departments for shared expenses
- Prepare audit schedules for annual financial audit as requested
- Process 1099’s at year end
- Prepare ad hoc special reports and analyses
Manage and reconcile the bulk mail and business reply mail accounts
- Cross-train in Accounts Receivable role and serve as backup when necessary

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Associate’s Degree accepted
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – primarily Excel and Word
- Strong understanding of Accounting theory
- Superior organizational skills
- Experience with Accounting software is beneficial (SAGE MIP preferred)

- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills for professional and courteous communication with both external and internal parties
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a dynamic environment
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
