To be an energetic and perseverant intern to work closely with Univar’s commercial teams to generate growth by developing opportunities for the Sales team.
This person should be confident and adept at communicating Univar’s value proposition, highly organized, extremely detail oriented, possesses a strong desire to work in fast-paced environment and provide great customer service
On a daily bases interns will get a "real world experience" that is designed to allow skill building to prepare interns for future sales opportunities in our Sales Trainee program for our Local Chemical Distribution, Bulk Chemical Distribution or Focused Industry teams.
The intern role will work closely with Univar’s Commercial team to pull and analyze data into workable prospecting files
Develop relationships with current and potential customers to understand current business needs
Identify multiple prospect contacts (high, deep and wide) at former customers, current house accounts and new prospect accounts
Support the sales teams with special projects
Participate in Univar’s Counselor Sales Program (CSP)
Learn and use Salesforce.com to record information gained on customer process/needs
Contribute ideas to improve processes and the customer experience
Document the lead generation process.
Enrolled as a current college student
Exceptional internet/phone skills and an out-of-the-box thinker.
Independent, driven, self-starter, with an ability to be flexible with the changing needs of a fast-paced distribution environment.
Excellent time management skills required along with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle diverse and significant workload.
Professional appearance and presentation required.
Strong written and verbal communication required.
Experience with Microsoft Office is strongly desired.
