SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) provides reading support and mentoring to PreK - 3rd grade students.

Federal Work Study students read with students and may also support the SMART Site Coordinator with administrative and organizational tasks.

The program begins in October and ends in May.

Position can be one or more hours per week depending on FWS student availability.

SMART Readers enjoy working with young students and reading children's books, as well as have a desire to help children learn to love reading.

This job requires that you are available during the elementary day (mornings or early afternoon): Mon, Tues, Wed, or Thurs (there are NO Friday programs).

Ability to travel to your assigned site (participating elementary or Head Start site.) SMART has a few locations close to campus, but many are not.

Must have a good work ethic, be punctual, and possess good communication skills.

Students must have a Federal Work Study award to be eligible for this job.
