UO Event Support provides conference and event assistance to student groups, departments and off-campus entities for any non-academic, non-athletic events at the UO. Crew members serve events as technicians, event monitors, setup/take down/clean-up crew, and in other capacities as needed. We are looking for customer service oriented students who work well independently and in teams. Leadership and/or technical skills are a plus. Positions begin at minimum wage, with advancement based on training and knowledge of department systems. We provide opportunities for training in the technical areas of sound, lighting, and audio-visual. More knowledgeable and experienced crew members become eligible for advanced training in crew leadership and event supervision.

Since 75% of the jobs assigned provide conditions with little or no direct supervision, all crew members must be capable of working independently in a responsible manner, exercising good judgement, learning and following complex routines quickly, and maintaining a professional attitude and courteous behavior when relating to fellow workers, staff, faculty, students, and the general public. All crew members must be proficient with common hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers and hammers. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Some experience with event support, production, sound technology, audio-visual technology, and/or the theatrical arts is preferred! Customer service is of primary importance.
