Biography

Maddy Nelson is the career readiness technology manager for the University Career Center. She serves as a strong advocate for adopting and managing the Career Center's technology platforms: Handshake, LinkedIn Learning, and Big Interview. As the administrator for these platforms, she ensures that each system is running smoothly for students, staff, and faculty. In addition, she provides various data from the platforms and supports all users with troubleshooting ideas and training opportunities. Maddy enjoys utilizing technology to empower and support students on their journey to be career ready!

Maddy started her career as a student worker at the UCC. She was hired full time in 2024 after graduating with a double major in sociology and romance languages and with two minors in legal studies and computer information technology. During her time as a UO student, she served as a vice president of Sigma Kappa, co-captain of UO Mock Trial, and was a member of the UO Esports team.

While growing up in Southern California and moving to Bend, her superfan dad raised her to be an avid Oregon Ducks supporter. Outside of work, Maddy enjoys spending time with her dog Sadie, playing all types of video games, learning new recipes, traveling, and cheering for all her favorite football teams—the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Chargers, and most importantly the Oregon Ducks.
