Need cash this summer while doing an internship? Apply to the University Career Center’s Internship Scholarship Fund! The University Career Center’s (UCC) Internship Scholarship Fund is designed to support students doing internships during the 2026 summer term. Scholarship amounts vary and are given based on need. Applications for the scholarship are due by Sunday, May 17th, 2026.
Eligibility criteria:
- Undergraduate student status (freshman through senior)
- Demonstrated financial need required (FAFSA, ORSAA, or ISSS Financial Resource Form filed)
- International students and Immigrant students also eligible
- Must be doing an internship during the summer 2026 term
- Must have secured an internship before applying to the fund
Students selected for scholarship funding will be asked to submit a brief essay describing their internship experience, as well as a photo, upon completion of the experience. Interested in getting credit for your internship experience? You can apply to the University Career Center’s UGST 404 course to get credit for you internship. Some academic departments also offer internship courses so check with your advisor if you want to learn about other possibilities. Information you need to have ready for the application process:
- Short statement of how you see your internship relating to your career goals or exploration, or helping you become career ready.
- Permission to access your financial need records through the UO Financial Aid office. This information will be used solely for the purpose of assessing student need and will not be shared outside of the UCC Internship Scholarship Fund selection committee. FAFSA, ORSAA, and information from the ISSS Financial Need form are some of the factors that will be considered to assess student need.
- Verification of your internship offer (PDF, image file, etc.)
- Review and confirm that the internship meets the Department of Labor Fair Standards Act (FLSA) Internship Criteria
Important Information for you to know:
- Scholarships are taxable, and can affect your financial aid package. If you receive scholarship funding, you are strongly encouraged to contact the UO Financial Aid office to determine how this scholarship may affect your aid package
Timeline
- Sunday, May 17th, 2026: UCC Internship Scholarship applications due
- Week of June 1st, 2026: Students notified of scholarship award decisions
