Tobin Johnston is the Job and Internship Developer at the University Career Center. His region of focus is businesses in Salem, the Portland Metro area and beyond. He is excited to facilitate meaningful engagements, learning opportunities, and interactions between employers and students as they co-invent in an exciting future.  Prior to coming to the University of Oregon, Tobin worked for the Oregon Employment Department for over ten years. He is a strong advocate for marginalized populations, having worked with individuals and organizations representing people with disabilities, minority populations, asylum seekers, and dreamers. He is from L.A. but transplanted to attend a classical college in Eugene. He received his bachelor's in Liberal Arts and a master's in Philosophy in 2019. He enjoys reading Derrida and Lacan, riding motorcycles, and boxing.
