Biography

Paul Timmins is the executive director in the University Career Center and leads the University of Oregon’s efforts to ensure that every UO graduate is “career ready.” He has worked in career centers at several universities and is energized by creating systems that help students identify, clarify, and implement career goals. He wants each student to appreciate how their entire education—including their work in the classroom and in out-of-class experiences like internships—prepares them to launch a successful career.

Paul is a former president of the National Career Development Association and was named as the Career Educator of the Year by the Big Ten Career Services Consortium in recognition of his work serving liberal arts students at the University of Minnesota. He received a bachelor’s degree in speech communication and marketing from the University of St. Thomas (Minnesota) and a master’s in higher education and student affairs from Indiana University. Outside of work, you’ll find him cheering on Duck sports teams or running on Pre’s Trail.
