When a student fails to show up for a scheduled appointment, it negatively impacts their fellow students' access to University Career Center appointments. We have a finite number of appointments available each week and would like to serve as many students as possible.
It is important to cancel or reschedule your appointment as soon as possible in order to give another student an option for that time. If you are sick, we appreciate your staying home and taking care of yourself.
You can cancel your appointment in Handshake > Career Center > Appointments, email your advisor, or call 541-346-3235.
Due to the professional nature of University Career Center appointments, the following policy will be enforced when you fail to show up for a scheduled University Career Center appointment.
First No-Show
If you no-show for a scheduled appointment with a staff member, you will receive an email informing you that you have missed a scheduled appointment, and that a second appointment no-show on your part will result in the loss of your ability to schedule further appointments for the term.
Second No-Show
If you no-show for a scheduled appointment with a career coach a second time, your ability to schedule appointments will be rescinded until you speak with a career advisor to get your access re-instated.
Additional Information
- No-shows will be reset/cleared at the start of each academic term and will not carry over from year to year.
- A no-show is considered any appointment in which a student fails to attend without calling to cancel prior to the appointment start time, or when the student is more than 10 minutes late without notification.
- There is a separate policy for no-show appointments with guest employers, organization representatives, and non-University Career Center staff that have been scheduled via Handshake. We also have policies if students no-show for on-campus interviews.
