Kate Werdebaugh is the senior associate director in the University Career Center and manages the operations of the center, including oversight of technology, human resources, fiscal management, assessment and data collection, and provides the executive director with high-level support on a broad range of issues that cross all aspects of the center. She serves on several teams across the Division of Student Life, including the Student Life leadership team, the Workplace Experiences HR team, and the Student Life Equity and Inclusion team. Kate also leads the Student Employment Enhancement (SEE) initiative, a campus-wide effort to promote and improve the professional development and employment outcomes of UO student employees by developing the knowledge, skills, and capacity of career staff members who supervise students. 

Before joining the UO, Kate served as human resources director for a large recruiting firm with several offices throughout the state. During her early career, she worked in employee recruiting, employer engagement, and workers’ compensation claims management, as well as the consumer credit industry.

Kate grew up in Portland, Oregon, and is a proud Duck and UO graduate (BA, English). In her spare time, she enjoys running, being outdoors, cooking, and reading.
