Biography

Amanda Wood is the Career Readiness Technology Manager in the University Career Center and oversees the adoption and maintenance of the center’s career readiness technology. Amanda serves as the administrator for the Handshake, LinkedIn Learning (student side), and Big Interview software platforms ensuring each system runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. Additionally, she provides troubleshooting solutions and supports training development efforts for each software system. Amanda is energized by the vast opportunities technology offers and is driven to continually seek out new ways to support the advancement of UO students through tech.

Before joining the career center team, Amanda worked for the State of Oregon as an executive assistant, managed an academic office at a university in Texas, and worked as a volunteer program coordinator for the largest no-kill animal shelter in America. She’s excited that her current role as CRTM is a perfect combination of her formal education, personal passions, and past positions, demonstrating that career paths are not always as straightforward as they may seem.

Amanda is a transplant from California, by way of Texas, and earned her bachelor's in communications from California State University, Fullerton. After living in several states and studying abroad, Amanda is ecstatic to put some roots down in Oregon with her husband and their two dogs, where she enjoys gardening, baking, reading, playing games (in any format!), and hiking.
